community

独乐乐,不若与众乐乐

Joy is greater when it is shared. Almost everything I care about eventually turns into the same question: how do I get somebody else into the room?

three rooms, one instinct

I build community in three places — through mathematics, through music, and through the plain work of showing up. The subjects are different. The instinct is the same: notice who is missing, then open the door.

A problem set, a piece of music, a room full of strangers.

All of them get better the moment somebody else is in it with you.
